CASOLOGY WEEK 240 - FOLIAGE

 

Hello, happy Sunday everyone!

Today’s card I created for this week’s CASology challenge,

Our new cue card for week #240 at CASology is “FOLIAGE”.

 

I’ve chosen to create a simple yet elegant, masculine thank you card design,

I’ve gone crazy with green whilst containing it to a minimized area on my card.

 

My card base is an A2 top folding card made out of Whisper White Thick Cardstock,

Again I’ve used the handy Stampin' Trimmer for all my trimming and paper scoring today.

 

The foliage panel on today's card was made with the Banners For You Photopolymer Stamp Set,

Using one of the small leafy branch stamps in the set, I’ve repeatedly stamped the image onto

the small Whisper White Cardstock panel using Old Olive Ink to bring the foliage to life.

 

To give my card a matching envelope I also stamped the little leafy branch repeatedly

onto the back flap of a Whisper White C6 Envelope, using Old Olive Ink once again.

 

The little Thank you sentiment comes from the Thoughtful Banners Photopolymer Stamp Set,

I've stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink onto some Basic Black Cardstock before

heat embossing the sentiment with White Stampin' Emboss Powder.

 

To give my card design some interest I’ve popped the stamped foliage panel up with

Stampin' Dimensionals, I then adhered the sentiment on top of the foliage panel with

more Stampin' Dimensionals to add another layer of dimension.

WHAT I LOVE - FLORAL BACKGROUND

Hello, happy Wednesday everyone!

Today I have a stamped floral background card design to share with you all,

I’ve used one of my favourite retired stamp sets from last year’s Sale-A-Bration.

 

I’ve used this stamp set to create a modern background design using a bold colour,

Adding just a small amount of colour pop and an accent of gold to finish things off.
 

I started by making an A2 top folding card out of Whisper White Thick Cardstock.

Again I’ve used the Stampin' Trimmer for all my trimming and paper scoring today.

 

I’ve then taken four of the beautiful floral and foliage stamp images that come in the

retired What I Love Photopolymer Stamp Set to create a pretty stamped background,

I’ve stamped the various images in Basic Black Archival Ink to create a bold tone.

 

I also stamped the same pattern to the back flap of a Whisper White C6 Envelope,

A matching envelope is always a nice finishing touch for your handmade cards.

 

The Thank You sentiment comes from the same What I Love Photopolymer Stamp Set,

I’ve stamped the sentiment onto Old Olive Cardstock using Basic Black Archival Ink,

The Old Olive Cardstock adds a nice pop of colour to this bold card design.

 

I adhered the stamped sentiment strip on top of a small bundle of Gold Metallic Thread,

Popping the sentiment up with Foam Adhesive Stripes to add dimension to the card.
 

The finishing touch for today’s project were a few Metallic Sequin Assortments in gold,

The gold sequins helped tie in the gold thread and also added a feminine touch.

I adhered the sequins to the card front using the handy Fine Tip Glue Pen.

POPPY BUNDLE - THANK YOU CARD

Hello, welcome back everyone!

Today I have a special Thank You card to share with you all,

Today’s card was created using stamps from Unity Stamp Company.

 

Today’s card I made for Andrea Garvick, the director of customer services at Unity,

Andrea has gone above and beyond helping me over the last few months and I just wanted

to send her a little something to let her know all her help has been tremendously appreciated.

I started off by making an A2 top folding card out of Trophee Board White Linen cardstock,

Using my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and paper scoring.

 

For the focal image on today's card I’ve used the gorgeous little Poppy Bundle Itty Bitty Stamp Kit,

I stamped the poppy flowers onto my card front using Versamark ink and then sprinkled the image

with Rangers Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder before heat embossing the image with my heat tool

 

While I had everything out I also heat embossed the poppy flower bundle onto the back flap of a

Whisper White C6 Envelope, using Rangers Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder again to add a nice touch.

 

 

The little Thank You sentiment comes from the Best Fishes Stamp kit, I masked off the bottom half of the

sentiment to just have the words “Thank You”, I've stamped the sentiment with Versamark ink onto my

Basic Black sentiment strip before heat embossing it with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder.

 

To assemble the card I adhered the sentiment stripe over the middle of the poppy flower bundle,

adhering the strip down with a Foam Adhesive Strip to give the card some dimension and depth.

 

I wanted to keep this card design minimal with a lot of open white space but I felt it just needed
another small embellishment, so I added three Doodlebug Designs Beetle Black Enamel Dots
around the focal image.

 

 

This card looks so pretty in real life with that gorgeous Gold Tinsel Embossing Powder,

I hope Andrea likes her little gift I got her and this sparkly gold thank you card.

CASOLOGY WEEK 207 - ROUGH

Hello, welcome back everyone!

Today’s card I created for this week’s CASology challenge,

Our cue card / challenge for week 207 at CASology is “ROUGH”.

 

 

I immediately thought of “rough texture” when I saw the cue card for this week’s challenge,

I chose to use a few raw (rough) elements on my card design, using cork and wood veneer.

 

Again I’ve started off by making an A2 top folding card out of Trophee Board White Linen cardstock,

Using my wonderful We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and paper scoring.

 

I’ve then begun by stamping three leaves, using the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set,

stamping all the leaves in Versamark Ink so I could heat emboss them to give the leaves some added texture.

 

I’ve used Rangers Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder on the Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake cardstock leaves to give them a nice tone on tone colour, while still allowing the leaves to look soft, but have that texture from the heat embossing, I then heat embossed another of the smaller leaves onto a piece of Vellum cardstock, using Rangers White Super Fine Embossing Powder.

 

I then went ahead and die cut out all the leaves using the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies,

I also die cut out a small Adhesive Backed Cork banner, using the Banners Framelits Die Set.

 

To assemble the card I started by applying my Adhesive Backed Cork banner to the card base,

I then made a large messy bundle of Gold Metallic Thread and adhered this to the cork banner.

 

Using Mini Glue dots I then adhered all my leaves on top of the thread and cork banner, offsetting them slightly to the right hand side of the card base, lastly I adhered the Thanks Wood Veneer to the large Cherry Cobbler leaf using Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

 

As a finishing touch, I added a few Gold Metallic Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh in two sizes,
Adhering the sequins to the card with a small amount of Rangers Glossy Accents Adhesive.

GUEST DESIGNER FOR STAMPIN' CELEBRATION!

 

Hello, welcome back my crafty friends!

Today I’m incredibly honored to be a Guest Designer at Stampin’ Celebration.

I’m so excited to be playing with some seriously talented ladies with this week’s sketch.

As most of you know we will soon be saying goodbye to the 2014-2016 In Colours from Stampin’ Up!,

and as a farewell to my favorite color I decided to use it for today’s card, choosing the following color combination for my card - Blackberry Bliss, Silver / Grey and White.

To start off I made an A2 top folding card out of Blackberry Bliss cardstock,

Using my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and scoring.

 

To add a print to my card base and to give the card some texture I dry embossed the whole front

of my card using a Cuttlebug embossing folder called Simple Flowers (super cute little flowers).

 

Now since I don’t own any file tab dies I had to improvise a bit for this sketch,

For my “mock file tab” I used the Deco Labels Framelits Dies from Stampin’ Up! and used the smallest die in the set to partially die cut some Silver Glimmer Paper, I then used my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to trim the cardstock in a straight line starting from my die cut lines, trimming the Glimmer Paper down to 2 ¼” x 4 1/8”.

 

I then trimmed down some Trophee Board White Linen cardstock, trimming down the panel to 2” x 4 1/8 “, so it's just slightly smaller than the Silver Glimmer Paper panel, giving me a nice sparkly border once the two panels are adhered together.

 

Using the Timeless Textures Clear Mount Stamp Set I took the beautiful swirly leaf / foliage stamp and stamped on to the Trophee Board White Linen panel with Smoky Slate ink, this just gave my panel a little more interest so it wasn’t completely plain and added some glam to the card.

 

The banner for the sentiment was made using Blackberry Bliss cardstock trimmed to 1/4" wide, I then paired it with a 1/8” strip of striped Blackberry Bliss Moonlight Designer Series Paper with the end trimmed at an angle.

 

For the sentiment I used a Stampin’ Up! stamp set called An Open Heart, I took the “Thank You” stamp and stamped my banner with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Silver Embossing Powder.

 

To make the little flower that sits on top of the banners I used the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, die cutting more Blackberry Bliss cardstock for the base flower, I then used the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack to add the centre Sliver Glimmer Paper flower, to finish it all off I added a Black Candy dot to the centre of the Glimmer Paper.

 

To assemble my card I adhered the Trophee Board White Linen panel down to my Silver Glimmer Paper panel using Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue, I then popped the whole panel up with some Best Creation Large 3D Foam Tape Dots to add some dimension to the card.

 

Useing more Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue I adhered the banners to my stamped Trophee Board White Linen panel, slightly overlapping them; I then used a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the flower to the banners.

 

To tie in the last element of the sketch I added a few Rich Razzleberry Candy Dots around the banner tail ends.
