SPOOKY FUN - HALLOWEEN CARDS

 

Hello, welcome back everyone!

Today I have two Halloween cards to share with you all,

Today’s cards were created using the Spooky Fun Photopolymer Bundle.

 

I decided to make two of each card design, just changing the base colour,

Making two with Pumpkin Pie Cardstock and two with Basic Gray Cardstock.

 

I started today’s project by making four A2 top folding card out of my chosen cardstock,

Using my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and paper scoring.

 

To make the background for the cards, I started by repeatedly stamping three sentiments from

the Spooky Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set, stamping each sentiment three times to the card base,

stamping in Pumpkin Pie Ink onto the Pumpkin Pie card base, and Whisper White Craft Ink

onto the Basic Gray card base.

 

The sentiment banners are made from Basic Black Cardstock, cut down to a 3/8” wide stripe,

I stamped the “Happy Halloween” sentiment form the Spooky Fun Photopolymer Stamp Set,

with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine White Embossing Powder.

 

Taking the moon from the same stamp set I heat embossed four moons onto Vellum Cardstock,

Again using Versamark ink to stamp each image, and heat embossing them with Ranger Super

Fine White Embossing Powder.

 

 

The vellum moons were die cut out using a circle from Hero Arts Infinity Dies Nesting Circles die set,

I allowed a bit of extra vellum around the moons to give a soft halo affect around the sides.

 

I then used the Halloween Scenes Edgelits Dies from the bundle to die cut out 12 bats,

Using some retired Stampin’ Up! Black Glimmer Paper from last year’s Holiday Catalogue.

 

 

To assemble my cards I layered the Happy Halloween banners over the vellum moon circles,

and adhered them to the card front over the repeat stamping with Foam Adhesive Strips,

Hiding the Foam Stripes under the black banner.

 

I then adhered three bats to each card using Best Creation Small Square 3D Foam Tape Dots,

and lastly I added three Beetle Black Enamel Dots from Doodlebug Design to each card.

 

This is a fantastic bundle with so many possibilities and I can’t wait to use it again!

CASOLOGY WEEK 207 - ROUGH

Hello, welcome back everyone!

Today’s card I created for this week’s CASology challenge,

Our cue card / challenge for week 207 at CASology is “ROUGH”.

 

 

I immediately thought of “rough texture” when I saw the cue card for this week’s challenge,

I chose to use a few raw (rough) elements on my card design, using cork and wood veneer.

 

Again I’ve started off by making an A2 top folding card out of Trophee Board White Linen cardstock,

Using my wonderful We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and paper scoring.

 

I’ve then begun by stamping three leaves, using the Stampin’ Up! Vintage Leaves Photopolymer Stamp Set,

stamping all the leaves in Versamark Ink so I could heat emboss them to give the leaves some added texture.

 

I’ve used Rangers Clear Super Fine Embossing Powder on the Cherry Cobbler and Crumb Cake cardstock leaves to give them a nice tone on tone colour, while still allowing the leaves to look soft, but have that texture from the heat embossing, I then heat embossed another of the smaller leaves onto a piece of Vellum cardstock, using Rangers White Super Fine Embossing Powder.

 

I then went ahead and die cut out all the leaves using the coordinating Leaflets Framelits Dies,

I also die cut out a small Adhesive Backed Cork banner, using the Banners Framelits Die Set.

 

To assemble the card I started by applying my Adhesive Backed Cork banner to the card base,

I then made a large messy bundle of Gold Metallic Thread and adhered this to the cork banner.

 

Using Mini Glue dots I then adhered all my leaves on top of the thread and cork banner, offsetting them slightly to the right hand side of the card base, lastly I adhered the Thanks Wood Veneer to the large Cherry Cobbler leaf using Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

 

As a finishing touch, I added a few Gold Metallic Sequins from Pretty Pink Posh in two sizes,
Adhering the sequins to the card with a small amount of Rangers Glossy Accents Adhesive.

MINIMAL SYMPATHY CARD

 

Hello, Happy Wednesday everyone!

This month I’ll be taking a wee break from card challenges (with the exception of next week’s card),

instead I’ll be focusing more on a few card designs that I been wanting to make for a while now.

 

Today’s card is a type I don’t enjoy making as I always feel I’m jinxing someone, somewhere in the world by just making them, however unfortunately they are cards we sometimes need so I thought it would be good to have a few of them on hand.

 

My card design today is relatively minimal with all the attention drawn to the focal image,

I decided to go with some pretty gold heat embossed vellum with  just a simple sentiment.

I've started off by making an A2 top folding card out of Stampin' Up! Basic Black cardstock,

Using my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to do all my trimming and scoring.

 

 

To add a bit of detail to the card base I used some Heidi Swapp Gold Lame Color Shine to make ink spaltters,

To create ink splatters you don’t use it as a mister like intended, but by unscrewing the nozzle and just tapping the suction tube you can create some fun and unique ink splatters onto any project.

 

Now onto the main part of this card, the beautiful gold heat embossed vellum.

Taking a sheet of Stampin’ Up! Vellum I started off by die cutting a stitched square using the My Favorite Things Stitched Square Staxs, I then gave my vellum a very generous rub / coating with my EK Success Powder Tool Applicator - this is very important to remember when using vellum as its notorious for its static cling.

 

I then used the branch / leaves stamp from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set An Open Heart and stamped these with Versamark ink onto my vellum square, I then sprinkled the whole thing with Rangers Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder and heat set it with my heat tool.

 

For the sentiment panel I trimmed down some Trophee Board White Linen cardstock, trimming down my panel to 3/4” x 2 3/4 “, I also paired my sentiment panel with a banner made from Gold Glimmer Paper, this helped the sentiment stand out and added a little sparkle to the card.

 

For the sentiment I used the same Stampin’ Up! stamp set An Open Heart, again stamping onto the sentiment panel with Versamark ink and then heat embossing it with Rangers Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder, while I was at it I also stamped the inside of my card with the rest of the sentiment carrying on from the front that says “So hard to find the words”.

 

Vellum is a translucent paper that can be challenging to apply to cards, so to hide my adhesive I first added some Best Creation Large 3D Foam Tape Dots to my sentiment panel, this also gave my card a bit of dimension and an area for me to hide my adhesive on my vellum square.

 

Not a card that I hope to be using anytime soon but I hoped you liked my minimal sympathy card,
