STAMP INK PAPER CHALLENGE #32

 

Hello again, How are all my fellow crafty friends?

I have another card this week to share with you all that I created for the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge blog,

Again this is my first time ever entering a card in over at SIP, but it’s turning out to be a week for “first times” so I’m on a roll. =)

 

This week at the SIP Challenge blog we have a very fun Tic-Tac-Toe challenge from Sandy.

I decided to play along choosing the right hand side and going down with, Heart, Pink and Bling!

 

I really liked my other card design for this week with the square area as a focal point,

 so wanting to stick with a good thing, I carried on with that design for this cute little card I made too.

 

I started off by using my We R Memory Keepers Trim & Score Board to trim down my favourite cardstock, making an A2 top folding card out of Trophee Board White Linen 240 GSM Paper.

 

Next I took some Crumb Cake cardstock and die cut a stitched square from Lil’ Inker Designs, I then dry embossed my stitched square with my Stampin’ Up! Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I feel that by embossing the stitched square it gave the card a bit more texture, whilst still keeping it soft and feminine.

 

I then die cut four Watermelon Wonder hearts using the Small Heart Doily die set from Simon Says Stamp, Now because this challenge calls for “bling” I decided to put my Clear Wink Of Stella pen to good use and gave each heart a generous coating of that wonderful glitter, and just to fancy it up a bit I also covered each heart in Rangers Glossy Accents, just to give them a nice finishing shine.

 

While my hearts were drying and before I added my sentiment, I adhered my stitched square down with some Tombow Mono Multipurpose Liquid Glue, I did this first so I didn’t stamp my sentiment to high or low from where I wanted it.

 

Using a retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set called Good Greetings I took the “Happy Valentine’s Day” stamp again and stamped this with Versamark and heat embossed it with Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder.

 

Once the Glossy Accents had completely dried on the hearts I adhered them to my card, I popped
each heart up with a few Best Creation Small 3D Foam Tape Dots so my card wasn’t completely flat.

 

To add a bit more bling to the card and to tie in with the gold sentiment I also added two super cute wee Gold Glimmer Paper flowers made with the flower punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

 

Again a very quick and easy card to make, I hope the judges at SIP like what I came up with though.
I think this card is super cute and feminine, exactly what I had in mind for the person I intend on giving it to.

Hello there,

As I mentioned last week Christmas isn’t that far away, only 64 days away!

So this week I have another “Christmas themed” project to share with you all.

Now I’m not sure about everyone else but I use a lot of tags around Christmas time,

So this week I finally got around to using the retired Stamp A Tag kit from Stampin’ Up!

 

The Stamp a Tag kit comes with everything you need to make 24 tags.

The kit includes, Stamp a Tag stamp set (wood mounted), Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Classic Stampin Spots, 24 white die-cut cardstock tags, plus Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Baker's Twine.

 

Now because I like to be different I didn’t use this kit the way it was intended - I had to add my own little spin to it, So I took the stamp set Graphic Christmas from Simon Says Stamp that I used for last week’s cards and added that same cute tree duo to my tags.
 

Using the bold out line tree stamp I stamped 10 tags in Old Olive ink and 10 tags in Lost Lagoon ink, I then used the lined tree stamp and heat embossed inside each tree using Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder on the Old Olive Tags and Ranger Super Fine Silver Embossing Powder on all of the Lost Lagoon tags.

 

I then used the To - From stamp that is include in the kit and heat embossed this to the backs of all the tags, again using Gold for the Old Olive tags and Silver for the Lost Lagoon tags.

 

Because I like to add a little sparkle to nearly everything I design I had to add a little sparkly star to each of the tags using the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack, I used Gold Glimmer Paper for all the Old Olive tags and Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper on 5 of the Lost Lagoon tags, and DCWV Glitzy Glitter paper to the other 5 Lost Lagoon tags, adhering them just off to the side with a Mini Glue Dot.

 

To finish each tag off I then looped a little ribbon through the top holes and tied them off with some gorgeous Metallic Thread, For the Old Olive tags I used Mossy Meadow 3/8" Satin Stitched Ribbon and Gold Metallic Thread , and for the Lost Lagoon tags I used Lost Lagoon 3/8" Silky Taffeta Ribbon and Silver Metallic Thread.

 

So I’m sure some of you are wondering why I only have 20 tags not 24.

Well I ended up wasting 4 tags by just playing around to see what I wanted to add (or didn’t), this is how I decided on using the Graphic Christmas stamp set as I feel it just made theses tags a bit more interesting.

 

A great thing about this Stamp A Tag kit is that you can punch out more tags and use it multiple times or if like me you only used the tags from the kit you could just add more tags and then it makes a wonderful gift for someone else.

OCTOBER......ALREADY?

Hello,

 Can you believe we’re already in October!

I most certainly cannot - didn’t we just have Christmas a few months back?

So now is about the time I start stressing about all the Christmas cards I have NOT yet made,

So in a bid to be on top of my Christmas cards this year I thought I’d jump right on it and hopefully not still be making cards right up until the morning of - yes I did that last year.

 

So funny story about the cards this week, these are not the cards I had planned to share with you, in fact I had my other cards all prepped and ready to go, I was just waiting on a stamp set to turn up in the snail mail to finish them off, my stamps came…. but the one I wanted to use was very badly cracked and I had to return it.

 

 So there I was, lost - I mean one does not simply come up with a new card design out of thin air,
So I’m sitting in my crafting chair gazing away trying to think of something new and fabulous to make that was “Christmas themed” and I’m going to be honest with you all, I didn’t have a bloody clue what to make, I mean all the stamps, dies and inks sitting in front of me and I was blank, nothing came to mind.

 

So in my state of the unknown and the nothingness I just grabbed a new stamp set from Simon Says Stamp called Graphic Christmas that just happened to be sitting on my desk and just started playing really - I had no clue what I was going to do or any set design in mind I just grabbed the little tree stamp and a few different green ink pads and started stamping.

 

So this is what I ended up with….

 

Like I did a little while back I used one card design with two slightly different finishes,

Again making two of each of the different finished card designs, giving me four cards.

 The cards are all A2 top folding cards made out of Trophee Board White Linen 240 GSM Paper.

 

My trees from earlier all ended up been stamped in Old Olive ink, so I then used the smaller tree stamp that pairs up with the Old Olive tree and heat embossed inside them using Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder to make them pop a bit.

 

I also added the gold heat embossed tree to the bottom left hand side to the front of all four Whisper White C6 Envelopes, I always like to try and give my cards a matching envelope when I can.

 

While I was at it I also heat embossed the sentiment to all four card bases, I used the same sentiment on all four cards using Ranger Super Fine Black Embossing Powder, the sentiment came from the Graphic Christmas stamp set just like all the trees.

 

I then fussy cut all the stamped / heat embossed trees out and went from there.

 

For the first two cards I kept my card design minimal with a lot of white area showing,

I popped three of the stamped / heat embossed trees up on Foam Dots and placed them in a line slightly above the sentiment, To add some sparkle to the cards I used the star punch from the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack and punched out a star to add to the top of the middle tree on both cards using some Stampin’ Up! Gold Glimmer Paper.

 

For my second take on the card design I wanted a bit more of a playful touch with more interest on the card front, so I took the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil and some Wendy Vecchi Studio 490 White Embossing Paste and used this to cover my card front. This gave it a soft white on white affect with more detail without been too distracting. I then assembled the trees the same way as the other two cards again adding a gold glimmer star to the middle tree and that was me done.

 

So in the end I was quite happy with what I managed to come up with and love the snow affect so much that I already have another card planed that I have in mind for my sisters Christmas card.

BIRTHDAY BALLOONS

Hello everyone, Happy Wednesday!

Now I must confess that today’s card is actually from my stash of older cards,

The reason for this is that it’s the start of two busy weeks at work for me and I just ran out of time to make anything decent, I still wanted to show you lovely folks something so i hope you enjoy this post and I hope to be back to my normal crafting ways next week and have some fresh new card designs to show you all.

To start off my card I used the Balloons Die set from Simon Says Stamp and used the largest balloon die in the set to die cut all three pieces of my cardstock / Designer Series Paper, For the first balloon, which will also be the front panel of my card I used some retired Moonlight Designer Series Paper, for the back panel of my balloon I used Sahara Sand Cardstock,

Now my card wasn’t very thick with just these two pieces of cardstock and since this was going to be
“the card” and didn’t have a card base as such I also die cut another large balloon using a sheet of Simon Says Stamp Ultra Thick 120 LB White Cardstock, I will use this piece to sandwich in the middle just to give the card the thickness it needs.
 

 

Since my card front was already pretty busy with the Designer Series Paper I wanted to add a bit more interest to the back panel of the card, so using the birthday cake and the candle from the Stampin’ Up! stamp set Big Day, I stamped these two images all over the Sahara Sand die cut balloon using my Sahara Sand ink pad - This ink is light enough that you can write your birthday message over top of it and your message will still stand out.

 

Next I needed something to add my sentiment on so I took one of the smaller balloons in the same die set to die cut a piece of Hello Honey cardstock, This one balloon is a perfect circle once you snip off the balloons tail, I used one of the sentiments from the Big Day stamp set and heat embossed this to my die cut circle using some Rangers Super Fine Black Embossing Powder, I also decided to heat embossing another sentiment from the same stamp set to the back panel of the card.

 

With everything all done I just needed to put everything together, I adhered my Designer Series Paper  to one side of my Simon Says Stamp Ultra Thick 120 LB White Cardstock die cut balloon and then my stamped Sahara Sand die cut to the other; I popped my Hello Honey circle up on some Foam Dots just so my card wasn’t completely flat, I also felt my card just needed that little bit something more so I took the Perfect Bow die from Simon Says Stamp and die cut two bows using some Blackberry Bliss Cardstock, I then adhered one to the back and front of the balloons tail.

 

Still not quite happy and feeling I needed some sparkle on my card I also added some Zig Wink of Stella Clear Glitter to some of the lettering on the sentiment. If I did this card again there are a few things I would like to change / add, but I was still reasonable happy with it.
